Dr. Sherene James Bond, DPM, MS is a board-certified foot and ankle specialist. Although born and raised in Virginia, Dr. Bond currently resides in Maryland. She and her loving husband have two sons who are the center of their family life.
Dr. Bond received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. She went on to receive both her Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences and Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. Dr. Bond received her residency certification from Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, NY.
Professionally, Dr. Bond’s work experiences where she provided podiatric care includes Future Care Capital Region in Landover, MD; Erickson Living Community at Ashby Ponds in Ashburn, VA; Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, MD; and the University of Maryland Prince George Hospital Center in Cheverly, MD.
In 2017, Dr. Bond branched out on her own to establish and open the Bronze Foot and Ankle Center in Cheverly, MD. She specializes in common foot problems, including ingrown toenails, bunions, plantar fasciitis to more advanced podiatric needs, such as flat foot reconstruction, foot and ankle trauma, and wound care. Dr. Bond strongly believes in providing clinical expertise and elite foot care her patients of all ages and backgrounds deserve, and empowering them with the information they need to make informed decisions about their foot care.
When it comes to research, Dr. Bond has had great success. In 2016, she was awarded first place at the Quality Improvement Symposium at RUMC at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, NY for her research titled, “Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate and C-Reactive Protein as a Positive Predictor of Osteomyelitis in Chronic Foot Infections”.
Historically, volunteerism has also been an integral part of Dr. Bond’s professional podiatric journey. Over the course of ten years, Dr. Bond’s extensive volunteer background within the Maryland community has included Doctors Community Hospital Breast Cancer Fair, First Baptist of Glenarden Health Fair and Kettering Baptist Church Health Fair where she provided educational information regarding various foot pathologies and free foot screenings.
Blooming wherever she has been planted, Dr. Bond’s volunteer roots and accomplishments can also be traced back to both Florida and New York. There, you will find where Dr. Bond provided free foot care education and exams, as well as organized and managed a health clinic for the public, and hosted a panel of Women Podiatrists where life experiences and professional struggles as female clinicians were shared. To her credit, her work is known by the American Association of Woman Podiatrists; Salvation Army Health Fair in Miami, FL; Children’s Special Olympics in Davie, FL; and various Homeless Foot Care Clinics in Florida.
Dr. Bond has been sought after as a guest lecturer in New York and Florida for youth conferences and youth groups, children outreach ministries and the Foot Health Care Community of Hollywood Health Fair.
Dr. Bond is a vital member of her community, willing to offer services to any foot and ankle ailment that walks into her office. Her passion has driven her to provide quality care to her patients. One of her major goals in life is to make a difference one foot at a time, and to get people back on their feet.
